Update 0.3


Hello!

Its been a minute since the last update! I've been hard at work finishing up classes and helping run a conference at my college, so its nice to finally have some serious time to really put some work. This update is focused on making the game a more user-friendly and smooth experience. The pause menu and item rarity systems in particular should really help me to add new items and features in the future.

There will be a hotfix pushed out for any and all issues with the current version this time next week, and after that, its on to v0.4! Look forward to new temporary items, altars to lost gods, the merchant, new rooms, and ratman scavengers!

- Some new zombie rooms have been added

- Phylactery has new visuals when destroyed

- Item drop system reworked

        - Items now have varying levels of rarity!

       - Chests can now drop common items

- Some spells now have trails

- Coins have trails

- All text now outlined for readability

- Floors now start with lower minimum room counts, increasing as you clear more floors

- Mage has a new mana system!

       - Higher tier spells consume more mana

- Rogue has a new stamina system!

       - Dash is now considered a Sp. Attack along with Stab (Applies poison, etc)

       - Dash blades only appear if dash is the third hit in a combo

       - Dash distance lowered

       - Rogue is now visible to the player during dash

       - Dash cooldown removed

- Items collected can now be viewed with [Tab] by default

- Massively overhauled pause menu

       - Audio Sliders

       - Windowed/Fullscreen

       - Input Changing

- Game Pauses when tabbed out

- Blinkbolt now deals damage to enemies and swaps your position if the bolt hits an enemy

- Alchemical Fire now leaves a burning puddle

       - Mage Items: Mana Crystal, Magic Orb, Jade Dragonfly

- Lowered point value of gold coins

- Changed some item sprites

- Reduced light radius max and raised light radius min

- Removed light flickering

- Decreased coins dropped from chests

- Chests can now rarely drop items from the general pool

- Increased drop rate for spell books

- Lowered I-Frames after dodging an attack

- Luck can no longer affect evade chance

- Changed some spell audios

- Normalized audio volume

- Lowered Shield Bash damage

- Lowered Shield spike damage

- Lowered duration of burn on fireball

- Reduced freeze effect of Snowball

- Lowered I-Frames after dashing

- Fountain now heals a max of 6 (3 hearts) of health instead of all missing hearts

- Light will now focus on a fountain if available

- Greatly reduced enemy I-Frames from Magic Missile

- Enemy HP now only increases after floor 3

- Speed Boots effect decreased

- Shield bash now propels you forward instead of backward

---- Fixes ----

- Powerbreak will no longer damage enemies before exploding

- Player will no longer appear to run when holding opposite directional keys

- Fixed an issue that was causing the player to be duplicated upon moving to a new floor

- Fixed an issue that was causing the mage to lose learned spells upon moving to a new floor

- Snowball will no longer increase in size depending on how many alchemical fire items you have picked up

- Spellbook tier numbers will now correctly bob up and down with spellbooks

- Fixed an issue that caused the axe loop sound to not stop if you killed the zombie brute while it was spinning

- Fixed running animations

- Fixed a bug causing enemy damage scaling to not apply to some attacks

- Fixed sprite size to maintain consistent pixel size

- Fixed animation speeds of all effects to make animations more consistent

- Fixed some lighting and tile issues

- Fixed a bug where skeleton knights would get stuck after throwing their spear

- Fixed a bug where Knight shield HP would attempt to increase even at full shield HP

- Fixed a visual error with bursters
